What is your favourite dessert these days? I've been crushing on some fresh lemon

tarts made with real lemons from the bakery. As is per usual, one of my parents likes them, the other doesn't! So onward and upwards I'm searching for something new for dessert - something that you can buy in a store.

That is a good idea. I'll see if they sell crepes in the store. applegrove Mar 2012 #12

is my dessert bestie. Love that cake, despite its high calories. I need to find an alternative I can make at home for less calories and less $$.

tapioca pudding.

I whip up the egg whites separately before adding the cooked pudding and egg yolk mixture to it

It's sooooo fluffy!!!

Hopefully will make some up tomorrow after Mr Pipi does the shopping

Add some no sugar added oatmeal cookies for a healthy and delightful snack!
BTW, you probably won't find the SF yogurt at
your local supermarket... you will have to visit an ice cream parlor or yogurt shoppe to get it.

People can put in what they want. I often make a bunch and set out several bowls of fillings such as cinnamon/sugar, regular sugar, lemon wedges, Nutella, strawberries or raspberries, whipped cream, peanut butter, ice cream, caramel sauce, etc.

They're not that hard to make, if you have a crepe pan.

On edit, I see that that was one of your requirements. Hmmm. Maybe a store-bought cake like pound cake that people can put toppings on would be good.

I did get some St. Patrick's Day cupcakes for them tonight but neither of my parents wanted them.

...but how about baked apples? They are so easy to make. Just core them and fill the core hole with cinnamon sugar and bits of butter. Put in a 350 oven and bake until tender.

Nostalgic, so they might be welcome for your parents. They smell so good, too.

And for parents like yours, Jell-O is a likely choice, too. You can put some canned fruit in it for a little boost of nutrition. So many fun flavors, so easy.
