Station receives a bomb threat so its evacuated. Johnny and Venus are sent to broadcast from the transmitter. Johnny's rantings about the "phone cops" ring especially true today.

I thought that episode would do well in the poll; but i never dreamed it would do this well

Les Nessman's Live On-Air broadcast was hilarious!

"Something just came out of the helicopter...it may be a skydiver... and there's another one, and another,....I don't see any parachutes........It can't be skydivers"

"OH MY GOD, THEY'RE TURKEYS!"

"People are running for their lives!"

"The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement!"

"One just crashed through the windshield of a parked car!"

Right up there with Mary Richards bursting into peals of laughter at the funeral of Chuckles the Clown.

"A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants...."

snip....

Wilson looked at the butchered shows and had to agree. Things turned around, however, when Shout Factory hosted a Paley Center WKRP reunion this May in Los Angeles (included on the box set as a bonus feature). Shout Factory president Garson Foos told Wilson he had already negotiated clearances for 65 per cent of the music used on the series. That eventually inched up toward 90 per cent and the DVD box set was a go. (One hold out: Pink Floyd, spoiling a gag in the classic “Turkeys Can Fly” episode.)

and defected. The scene in the INS office is a classic.

Andy and Bailey looking around the clerk at the wall saying "Excuse me sir, why do you still have a picture of Richard Nixon on the wall?"

Clerk: "They never sent us a Carter."

Another funny line "No sir, you can't defect here in Cincinnati. There's a lot of things you can't do in Cincinnati and that's one of them."

I know it didn't age all that well-but it was damn funny for it's time.

Stephen King once (semi-jokingly) said you could determine all you needed to know about an American male of a certain age with his answers to three questions:

Ginger or Mary Ann? (Mary Ann for me)
Betty or Veronica? (Veronica)
Jennifer or Bailey? (Bailey)

The one in which Herb painted his daughter's frog (named Greenpeace) pink.

It's also the one where Les convinces Johnny he's got "schistosomiasis."

It deserves a vote.

One of my favorite exchanges from the episode:

Herb: I can't call in a podiatrist to see a frog. It'll make me look stupid.
Les: Herb, podiatrists take four years of medical training.
Bailey: Oh, call him, Herb, the frog is dying. Just pick up the phone and say, "Hi, my pink frog is dying and I would like you to come up here and take a look at his feet." I am sorry, I could not resist it!

I would love to see the out takes from this episode - though they may have used everyone's reactions to a pink frog for the show.
