Facebook Pet Peeve No. 27,396: People who say they "need" some expensive luxury item.

Or they simply post a picture of it with the comment, "I need this!".

Recently, I've had various people on Facebook say they "needed--amongst other things--a Cartier watch, diamond earrings, leather boots, an antique Colt 45 pistol and a new BMW.

Several things:

1. You do not "need" any of those things. Really, honestly, you don't.

2. No one on Facebook cares that you think you do "need" those things. Really, honestly, we don't.

3. Even if somehow you did "need" one of those things, do you honestly expect any of your Facebook friends to buy it for you? Anyone on Facebook who cares enough about you to spend thousands of dollars on you better know you well enough in real life beyond Facebook. I mean, what do you expect? "I sat next to you in sixth grade English class, so certainly I'll buy you that Jaguar!"
