someone just posted in that thread, how do you go directly to the newest post in a thread without looking at the endless list of posts and time stamps?

(16,286 posts)1. I am on "latest threads"page, I see a thread I want to look at , I click on that thread
2. would I now see this thing or is it on the latest thread page?
I dont see it
wait, i see "10 newest"
but i cant click on that
replies posted after I mark?
what is mark, bookmark?
if "always highlight 10 newest" is clickable, and I click it, I then do NOT see anything highlighted

(26,602 posts)thread the ten most recent replies will have yellow symbols in that long top list rather then grey. If the "since I last marked" choice is selected (shown in black/bold), then only posts since you last marked the forum will have yellow.
You mark the forum on the main forum page, by pushing the 'mark as read' button...

(16,286 posts)So mark as read would be like for the ENTIRE General Discussion forum, so if I do that then any thread I go to in that forum will show me the last 10?

(26,602 posts)"Always highlight: 10 newest replies | Replies posted after I mark a forum" - one of the options will be in black/bold, that's the option you're currently using (the other will be blue/clickable, that's how you'd switch to it).
If "10 newest replies" is active, then every time you open a thread the ten most recent replies in the list will have the little yellow icon, and the rest will be gray. Whether or not you've pressed 'Mark' will have no effect.
If "Replies posted after I mark a forum" is the active choice, then all replies that are new since the last time you pressed Mark will have yellow icons - if you haven't marked the forum since the thread was posted, that will be all of them.
You can't mark individual threads, unfortunately - it's only at the forum level. So, you can click the 'Mark as read' button on a forum main page and mark all threads in that forum. Or, you can go to the Latest Threads tab and press 'Mark all as read' - that will mark all threads is all forums...
