(149,640 posts)I'm so glad you posted it full size.
A tranquil, lovely scene is surely what we all need, especially now.
Thank you!

(15,676 posts)Granted, his stuff was basically factory-manufactured generic feel good stuff, but some of it was bearable in a Hobbiton sort of way...

(2,382 posts)"Painter of Light (TM)" Kinkade was a shameless self-promoter who charged absurd sums just to dab a few brushstrokes on one of his prints. He did, indeed, do a few pieces that I actually liked, but on the whole, his body of work was pure saccharine schmaltz.
BTW, I'm not some snarky critic; I've been a professional artist for fifty years, so I know a little bit about it.

Even if it weren't, whomever did it is one hell of a talent. Either that or they're the luckiest person in the world to be in that place at that time, either in reality or in their head.

(18,421 posts)I would think it has been doctored slightly though... Looks as though the green colors have had their contrast boosted. Still a beautiful photo though!

(9,762 posts)If you are feeling especially generous, you might consider posting this as a reference photo for artists on a site such as wetcanvas, as artists are always looking for great reference photos they don't need to spend hundreds on to be able to use.
Please ignore my idea if it is offensive or doesn't suit you.
I thought of this as I like to dabble in pastels and was thinking of how happy artists would be to have such an amazing photo to paint from.

(15,676 posts)Thanks for the link. I download my hi-rez stuff from a wallpaper group on Usenet, bypassing the web altogether. So I don't usually know where the web links are.
