(205,536 posts)When I was a kid, one of my best friend's families had a small poodle and several cats. One little kitty, rescued from the barn where my friend kept her horses, had some sort of brain damage, had trouble walking, so the little dog regularly took him to the litter box. Animal relationships are fascinating - and often touching.

My godmother had a wire-haired dachshund who liked to sneak up on the Siamese cat and pick her up just like that. He'd do three or four laps of the living room, the cat shrieking the entire time. Then he'd toss her off in one direction, then run in the other. The cat would spend a few hours stalking around and growling with her hair standing straight up; the dog would hide for however many days it took the cat to quit being mad at him, then it would start all over.
