In Time (barely) for the One Year Anniversary of the Loss of MFM

As some may remember, the most wonderful and generous denizens of the DU Lounge (tm) helped last year to provide a brand spanking new tee vee and dvd machine to the nurses and staff of the fourth floor cardiac unit of the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona in honor of James Swope.

(history - http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018596220 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018604472 http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018607015 )

For the past 9 months or so I have patiently and impatiently waited, emailed, and eventually begged for a photo of the dang thing to be able to post for you all to see. Finally just on Wednesday I got these two images in my e-mail.

These are great pictures and how good to see the plaque and the TV that we sent those good nurses.

Gawd, I miss him, and I always will.

I could have used his advice, support, goofiness, this past couple of months. There are times when, almost subconsciously, look for a post from him.

All the horrors of the last days have served as a reminder of how much a fundamental, healthy part of life laughter is, and Jim (MFM, the Pantsless Tag-Team Bedbath Lovin' Wonder) was an artist.

Much love and respect, in his name.

(and I know if you have to explain a joke it isn't funny, that is why HE was the funny person and not I)

I had the idea to do some silly thing about real Mexican food for one of our lunches and stopped at a Taco Bell for a photo op. Jim, of course, had a better idea involving the power of mighty farting so we tried to make this look like a remodel needing to be done after he had a burrito. Meh it wasn't as funny in "post production" as it was on location. I recall we laughed our asses off as other customers walked by wondering though.
