This was a brutal loss. But i hold solace our team is good we are always in the playoffs. There is always next year. It's just a game. We are lucky a lot of fans don't get to cheer for their team today

Waiting it out is a good idea. Tomorrow morning might be worse. There is that brief moment when you wake up before you remember .....

What part of Wisconsin is he from? I am from green bay

My late brother was in sales in Wisconsin big packer fan. He said making sales calls after a packer loss was not fun. Nobody would buy anything til thursday

Loss like this he would go ice fishing for a week

Yeah, the Packers deserve the utmost respect. They played a great game. Though I must say, I don't know why McCarthy chose to go for the field goal TWICE on fourth and goal at the Seahawks' one yard line. I just don't believe Pete Carrol or Bill Bellichick would have made those calls. I think both of them would have gone for the touchdown. If you get the TD you've really strangled your opponent. And even if you don't get it, you're putting them in a position of starting on their own one yard line. I understand that conventional old school wisdom is always take the points. But the game has changed. You've got to take some educated risks to win, especially against an explosive team like Seattle. Ah well. I think the Packers represented themselves and the NFC quite well. That's much more than can be said of the Colts, who looked middling today in the AFC championship game.

The game was lost in the 1st quarter. I knew those trips to the red zone with few points would cost us in the end....same thing happened in New Orleans. FG's and not TD's

(boiled in beer, then grilled) and takes them to the Yale Bowl for one of the home games. He wears his plastic cheese head, altho he takes it off when I arrive because he knows I don't like it (it's ridiculous!). Serves the brats at a tailgate with sliced onions and pickles on kaiser rolls. They're pretty good...lots of folk up here don't know about brats.

The prettiest town on the peninsula is, IMO, Ephraim. Really lovely, but it is a dry town which I find odd for Wisconsin. But what the hell, we have a dry town in tony Fairfield County CT. Go figure.

Speaking of that, I am always amazed at the taverns in WI and how I've seen babies in their little carriers on the tops of bars while their parents sit and drink. If you did that in CT you'd get arrested for child abuse! But we don't have such taverns in CT...here you have to serve food in bars.

the buns are the most important part=Kaiser rolls, NOT hot dog buns. Also people get rabid about mustard only, no ketchup. Although at Miller Park their stadium sauce is part ketchup with BBQ sauce

Yes in small town Wisconsin the taverns can be the focal point and gathering places for people of all ages, especially in the depths of winter, especially if there is no movie theater nor bowling alley.

If both parents are present and their child is under 18, the bar owners will let them have a couple of beers. our kids think it is a riot they can order a beer and the waitress doesn't even blink....yes we let them have a couple on occasion when we visit. I guess its like wine in France.....

Why does their attitude depend on something they have no control over--whether "their team" wins or loses?

Yeah, there's rooting for your team and feeling like you are part of a group. But letting a football team's loss make you depressed?

pissed me off too many years in a row. A friend gave me the book Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby. I decided I didn't want to be as constantly bummed out as Nick Hornby. Now I enjoy the games a lot more.

Not some Daddy Warbucks asshole like Jerry Jones, who extorts a whole city into giving him anything he wants or he'll take away the team.

The local politicians cave in because they don't want to be the "Guy who lost (fill in the blank) team."

So local taxpayers get stadiums they are still paying for, years after they've been demolished.

for my aunt and uncle, who live near Green Bay and are ardent fans. They are both 90 years old, so who knows whether they'll get to see their team go to the Super Bowl again? I don't like football much, but I was kind of hoping for a win for these folks.

When you're the underdog road team, you have to play to win. You have to take risks. Go for it on 4th and 1, and stop settling for FGs.
