DU Album of the Day: Bruce Springsteen "Wrecking Ball"

Well this is a first. I've picked an album that is exactly ONE DAY OLD.

Not sure if any of you have had a chance to purchase this album yet but let me tell you this - it's really good! I think Bruce has a classic on his hands.

It's awesome, and so is Bruce. He's playing down here in a few months and we want to go---but so is Roger Waters and I checked online yesterday and the tickets are outrageous---we're talking like $500 bucks each. My husband is going to try to get them through his connections through work.

Btw, Rolling Stone gave Bruce's album 5 stars.

just in case you need help deciding.

First, the Roger Waters concert was great up until the 4th side of the album, then I'll be honest - it was like watching the film on a giant brick wall while I think they could have just been lip syncing. HOWEVER, the thing is this - the first 3 sides - ABSOLFUCKINGLUTELY AMAZING. Then I think they just ran out of time finishing the concert.

Having said that. This is not a concert you want front row tickets to see it. First it's Roger Waters - he's not exactly some hot 20 something stud of a man. You could go down a level in seating and still have a great concert experience. Mainly because if you're farther back a bit you get to really enjoy the entire aspect of what is being done on stage since it is such a large visual.

I saw Roger back in 1987----funny story I went with my boyfriend at the time and we somehow got seperated and these guys ended up giving me a 4th row floor seat---it was a great show, but quite honestly I'd rather see Bruce---I've never seen him live and he has so many great songs.

When did you see Roger?

I saw 'Dark Side of the Moon' tour twice back in 2007. The first time I went with my friend and her relatives and we didn't have the best of the seats but again, his shows are so visual we still really enjoyed it. The next afternoon I was goofing around and did a search on tickets and saw that there was one ticket available 10th row for the show. So I went again by myself - I had fun. I make friends easily.

3rd time I saw him was a few weeks later at Live Earth - he did a 4 song set.

4th time was last year for 'The Wall'

I've seen Bruce twice. First time was at the Meadowlands in 2008. Seeing Bruce at the Meadowlands in NJ is like Muslims going to Mecca - should do it at least once in your lifetime - that part of NJ is home turf for him.. Then a few months later he did the free concert for Barack Obama and I went with a group to see him in Philly.

We saw them on the Momentary Lapse tour and it was fucking awesome...we sat mesmorized in our seats the whole show (Yes we were under the influence os substances which I won't name) then we saw them at Giants stadium on the Division Bell tour where they did all of Dark Side of the Moon. Both were obviously without Roger but they were still awesome. Actually, we saw them twice on the Momentary tour.
