The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsJust heard Linda Ronstadt's 'Blue Bayou' on an Internet radio station.
I saw her three times in concert in her heyday.
From Wikipedia:
At a 2006 concert in Canada, Ronstadt told the Calgary Sun that she was "embarrassed George Bush (was) from the United States. ... He's an idiot.... He's enormously incompetent on both the domestic and international scenes. ... Now the fact that we were lied to about the reasons for entering into war against Iraq and thousands of people have died it's just as immoral as racism."

Beautiful voice.

(19,537 posts)One of the best concert experiences I ever had. She was great!
Yep, not surprising that she thinks a lot like us... She had a great thing with California governor Jerry Brown too...

(3,919 posts)for this reason she was not able to be present when she was elected to the rock 'n roll hall of fame. several female singers and friends paid tribute to her at the event - emmylou harris, sheryl crowe, trish yearwood, etc.
