Doc film based on a book about a mysterious death in my town
Chadron, Nebraska author Poe Ballantine's memoir Love and Terror on the Howling Plains of Nowhere examines the mysterious death in 2006 of Chadron State College math professor Steven Haataja, whose charred body was found 95 days after his disappearance tied to a tree in the boonies south of Chadron. Dave Jannetta's documentary film based on the book, and by the same name, has been playing at film festivals ever since May, and is now available on VOD and will soon be for sale on DVD.
Dave Jannetta with Michael Moore last summer at Moore's Traverse City Film Festival, where the film was a sell-out success:
Dave sent out this email today:

The DVD should be out on Amazon later this week and I'll be sure to let you know when that happens.
The film will be playing one more festival this weekend in Missoula, Montana and I will continue to promote the film and update you with anything new that happens.
Thanks very much!
Dave
The film is receiving excellent reviews, which I believe it well deserves.
By the way, at the end of the film is an obligatory "Please contact law enforcement if you have info on the case," but Poe and Dave hope people will instead contact them by sending Dave a private message through Dave's L&T Facebook page.
