I have a CD player and I listen to audiobooks a lot. It stutters at times, and altogether quits

playing sometimes.

Admittedly, the CDs are from the public library so probably have not been gently handled.

However, I think some of the fault is with the player. What's a cleaner you could recommend?

Make sure to squeeze the Q-tip after to dip it in the ethanol so as to make it barely moist, the same way you would wring out a washcloth.

If your player doesn't work after that, you need a new player.
