Uma Thurman's al natural look, per article.

Uma Thurman New Face: Actress Called “Unrecognizable” With Red Carpet Look
Truth rating: 10

(Getty Images)

Uma Thurman looks different. The actress was sporting a new look on Monday when she walked the red carpet for the premiere party of “The Slap,” her new NBC series. A number of outlets are calling Thurman “unrecognizable,” invoking the red carpet appearance last October by a different-looking Renee Zellweger. The Daily Mail is freaking out, asking, “What has Uma Thurman done to her face?”

It seems like much of the startling appearance can be attributed to Thurman wearing her hair slicked back and mostly forgoing makeup except for red lipstick. It’s not as though Thurman has been out of the public eye for an extended period. Just by wearing bangs and more makeup for an NBC press tour event less than a month ago, the star looked more like her usual self (see below). Not that it will stop the usual speculation about plastic surgery that tends to follow women whose appearance changes.

“The Slap” also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Melissa George, Thandie Newton and Zachary Quinto. The eight-part series will examine the repercussions of a moment when an adult man slaps a child. It’s based on a book and early Australian TV drama. It sounds intense. Even more intense than not wearing mascara to a red carpet event. Nevertheless, Thurman’s face is generating headlines. Take a look at the pictures below, and tell us what you think. The first picture is from January 16, the second from Monday.

Why must women be all tarted out with excessive make-up just to be beautiful?

On any given day I like just a lil face powder (to even out the redness) and lipstick. I'm good to go.

And she's has been having an amazing career. Ok Swinton isn't getting the big blockbuster $20million dollar roles. But Swinton tends to be in some of the top rated movies each year like 'Grand Budapest Hotel'. Swinton is one of those talented actresses that would rather take less money for a movie that will showcase her talents and get excellent reviews than to do a part that is simply a huge paycheck even in the end the movie will suck like crazy.

Jessica Lange
Kathy Bates
Helen Mirren
Meryle Streep

Just to name a couple.

I think Julia Roberts is going to make the list too.

i see the contour is not blended in well. the liner shows where it exceeds her natural lips and the eye contour is somewhat off.

i think the mua fucked up. it is ironic how much makeup and skill it takes to wear the all natural look.

although she is totally recognizable

Yep. Kinda like this all-brown hair on my 57 year old head is all natural. Why can't they just be honest? That would cut the speculation right off at the pass. Oh, wait. That would cut the speculation right off at the pass.

A shame, really. I liked her before look much better.

well, foregoing everything except foundation, concealer, highlighter, contour, two shades of eye shadow, the three products you need for a camera-ready red lip...just because she has no eyeliner on doesn't mean she's not wearing a ton of makeup.

What worries me is someone green-lighted an eight-part miniseries about a man slapping a child.

was intense so I didn't really watch it. It's about an incident where a child is slapped at a barbeque and it's repurcussions, which threaten to tear those involved into little pieces. It was about expectations and outlooks in a culture, the slap is what starts the ball rolling.

It's a shame that the US market can't absorb shows from other countries, even those that speak english without doing heavy handed remakes. I cannot guarentee ehat your product will end up like.
