Don't worry - it's fairly mild and I'm not in a category that it's a danger for (no chronic illness, not over 70). I'm okay during the day with Dayquil, but last night I woke up a couple times aching all over and slightly nauseated.
I haven't had the flu in decades. Hubby & I are hunkering down for a few days until it passes. We are stocked up with chicken soup and other good foods so it's just the passage of time now.
Thanks for listening.

(32,086 posts)I got off fairly easily, and glad to hear that's the case for you, too. Just a fever, some moderate aches and pains, and some congestion and a cough, which I kind of still have. And, lots of tiredness. I did the chicken soup thing, as well. Quite helpful. The good thing is that I think I managed to drop a few pounds.

(7,813 posts)This bout seems to be a lot like GoCubsGo's. I went out and got some daytime and nighttime Theraflu so I have plenty of meds. I just hope that tonight isn't as painful as last night. I could barely get out of bed because my whole body, especially my head, ached so much.

Feel better Leith.

(7,813 posts)I'm unemployed.
But trying to keep busy. I wrote a deuces wild video poker program that works in your browser. Now I'm writing a program that analyzes the stats of whatever hand you put into the program to be analyzed.
First, you click on checkboxes to get a dealt hand. Then you click on buttons of which of those cards you want to keep. It works fine when you replace the cards once, but when it goes for more than that, it gives weird results. It once told me that a wild deuce and 2 sixes was a royal flush. Hhmmm...
The problem is that I have been too fuzzybrained to debug it.
I wrote the programs to up my credentials for getting a job. I'm getting quite good at JavaScript and jQuery, but I need to get better. I'm putting together a portfolio of webpages to show prospective employers what I can do.
