I was disappointed to learn that Bale didn't actually sing the song in the movie. Perhaps that's why he wasn't nominated.

I've heard nothing but the highest praise for it though, so I'll see it eventually.

Out of nowhere. P-51 Cadillac of the skies. I guess it left an impression on me.

around here somewhere. It's one of those movies that is so powerful that I know I want to see it again, but am almost afraid to!

That was Christian Bale. Yep, it sure was. Crap!

I remember not liking that movie very much. I saw it in the theater with my Dad when it first came out, and haven't seen it since, so maybe through more mature eyes I might like it better. I remember it being an impressive looking movie, but I also remember it being a real downer. I also remember feeling really aggravated towards that kid. (Although, perhaps that was the point).

this is an arrogant kid who grew up with a very rich family that kept him sealed off from the real world. I don't think he fully realized what the hell was going on until he found out that those lights at the end were from a bomb and not, as he thought, the woman's soul going to heaven.

I was probably too young and inexperienced to really get it the first time.

Nominated for Supporting Actress? WTF? She commanded every scene in which she appeared and supported no one. Easily one of the finest performances I've ever seen by anyone under the age of 30.

Absolutely should have taken the Oscar for it.
