1. That reminds me of my old boss

affectionately known as the Little Dunce (he stood about 5'6"; the part will be explained). The office had mostly women, yet L.D. left the seat up so often that we developed a hand signal, tilting our hand up in sort of the opposite motion to the "limp-wristed" one homophobes use. This was an old building, so the toilet would often be running; the signal for that was to run in place for a few seconds.

5. Down. Seat & lid. Then cats (or kids) won't knock things into it.

My dad got up earlier than everyone else. His 1st action was to 'water the grass' off the patio.

rolling every now and then, and then with the errant toothbrush or mascara or contact lens flying around the loo... seems sensible to keep it down when not in use.

Plus, ya know what? I just don't worship the toilet or its particular use (like some fecal fanatics). I really don't want to see the inside of it. It's proper to keep it closed.
