My oldest and closest friend passed away today.
He suffered a traumatic brain injury a few years back and his quality of life was never the same. He is at rest now, but will never be forgotten and always missed. RIP my Brother.

I was at a Bon Seger concert last week. Fourth time I've seen him. The audience looked like they belonged at an insurance seminar. The reaper is coming after all of us.

Yes, pretty much all the shows I see any more are like that. Going to see John Mayall this summer at the Whiskey A Go Go in LA. John's 80! 
It was a great trip to Maui. One of the many experiences I'll treasure from our friendship.

We knew each other since 2nd grade. In grade school we looked so much alike that neighbors would mistake one of us for the other walking down the street! Not so much when we got older, but the bond never waned.
He blew a little harp, but was really just a music fan.
You've probably been feeling a sense of loss ever since his injury occurred.
Yes, he was in ICU for a month after the accident, and near the end of his time there another close friend of ours and I were leaving the hospital after a visit and he stopped me and asked if I thought we'd ever have our old friend back. I couldn't lie to him and told him that our old friend wasn't coming back, and he never did.
