Not for me. Naps make me groggy and a little sick to my stomach. But my friends really love a good nap. What's wrong with me??

(149,719 posts)In fact, I just now got up from a brief one.
I've had them up to 2 hours long, but usually 1 hour does it.
They are very restorative for me. They make it possible for me to carry on for the rest of my day, which is normally well into the night.
Yay for naps!

(10,893 posts)but the problem is that they've had my sleep schedule screwed up for years. I always end up having to take sleeping pills and listen to nature sounds on my iPod just to fall asleep quick on nights before school.

(12,406 posts)Maybe I'm better off then, because I sleep non stop at night. I couldn't take a pill because I'm zonked when my head hits the pillow!

(12,132 posts)for now. I hope to someday graduate to retirement and nap on a daily basis.
I don't have to be to work until 10am so I sleep to 8:30~8:45 with plenty of time for snooze button before getting ready for work (which is only 7 miles away so easy to get to). I get home late though - between 7 and 8 - so dinner is usually late and I hate to go to bed soon after eating so I'm always up after midnight and usually don't get to bed until 1:30~2:00.
but around 4 on most afternoons I get yawny and wish I could nap at work but they always complain about my snoring so I don't.
Some day though, some day.

(5,604 posts)I have to kill my brain every night just to get some sleep despite being physically exhausted from work, so no, daytime naps never happen. Too bright, too much noise, too much to do, too much to think about.

(56,912 posts)dusk when I wake up ... that gives me melancholia for some odd reason.
However, I am an awful, terribly bad Insomniac so, Yes ... a good nap is a blessing to me.
I love napping in front of a fire in the winter or, on rainy days ... with a good book and a glass of wine.
or maybe in front of the TV with some good old black/white movie on.
Used to take good naps to Bob Ross, too.
