(3,445 posts)I can't believe it's been two years, time goes by so fast. She's absolutely beautiful, Will.
(And BTW, that next-to-the-last photo is my absolute favorite....)

(17,997 posts)I love pictures of baby on daddy's chest. Have one with my brother on my dad's, my parents foster child on my dad's, my niece on my brother's and probably some others.
Happy birthday to your lovely daughter

It's a long, arduous, frustrating, exhilarating, miraculous process. No sane dad in the world would miss it for anything.

(54,256 posts)That's what a close friend (and father) told me the day my daughter was born.
I had no idea what he was talking about.
HooWee Boy was he right!
All of a sudden you have this tiny being, who YOU helped to create (WOW!) and you have no clue as to how to deal with her.
You bring her home from the hospital and she's crying.
You don't know why.
You check her diaper safety pins to make sure she's not skewered.
(Yeah, this was 40 something years ago.)
Maybe she's hungry?
Mom tries to breast feed.
No deal.
We're still clueless.
There is no owners' manual or tech help to call.
I leave for the airport to pick up mom's mom.
Wish I had a police escort to get back.
Granny hauls that kid up on her shoulder and whacks her on the back a few times.
B-U-U-U-R-R-R-P-P-P
No more crying.
Fast forward beyond all the middle school angst, etc. to BOYS
YOU remember what you had on your mind when the hormones began to fire?
BASTIDS!
Eventually, if you're lucky, and maybe do a few things right, she marries a guy you really like and respect and you get...GRANDCHILDREN!
Grandkids are FUN.
You can indulge them and let them do things you'd never let your kids do and at the end of the day THEY GO HOME!
Perfect.
Happy Birthday Lola.
