(10,418 posts)I didn't even know there was an eclipse going on. It was still dark when I went to work this morning, and as I was walking in I noticed it and thought the moon looked a little strange. I put two and two together and realized my lucky happenstance.

(46,436 posts)That's 2:45 our time. I started shooting about 2:15 and took a shot about every 15 minutes until a little after 4:00. The peak of the eclipse was 3:54 Alaska time, almost 8:00 on the east coast.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,372 posts)I have a trip currently that brings me into Detroit in the hours just before sunrise. Typically the moon at this point of the cycle is over my left shoulder as I drive north into the city. I noticed at first it looked like it was almost full, but with a curve to the shaded part. As I finished my trip into Pontiac and as the sun was rising, the eclipse was well on it's way but it didn't dawn (no pun intended!) on me that was what was happening. All I could think was....hmmmm...that's weird!
Very cool. Anything celestial is cool

(46,436 posts)I haven't posted them yet. I need to make myself sit down and do some editing. I wasn't quite as invested in Iditarod this year since the restart was moved to Fairbanks and we didn't go out to Nome, but I do have some pretty good shots that I should do something with. Thanks for the motivation.
