Hmm- makes you wonder about extinction choices

Is their something afoot here?

Black Rhinos have been hunted to extinction since 2011 for their horns:

are both grey. The “white” in the name comes from the flat (wide) shape of the “white” rhino’s lip. The black rhino’s lip is pointed. The word wijde is Dutch for “wide,” and that is why the wide-lipped rhino is called a "white" rhino. No other reason.
