but an entertaining enough way to kill some time, and occasionally can point you toward some interesting books/movies/video games (though probably spoiling them somewhat in the process).

As a little experiment, I tried to think of any movie, tv show, short story or novel that isn't chock-full of these "tropes" from start to finish.

With the possible (and cringingly over-alluded-to) Epic of Gilgamesh, I was unable to name a single work of fiction that passed the test.

Supporters of this sort of scavenger hunt nonsense will praise this as proof that the site is invaluable, but an entirely conventional diversion into deconstructionist time-wasting.
