(19,288 posts)I'd post pics but I never learned how and now I do everything from a phone much smarter than I am.
What has got you down, old friend?

(21,484 posts)My beloved has been away for more than a month, caring for her elderly parents. I was at the emergency vet until 2:00 this morning with Daddy the Cat. I have been out of my reflux medicine for three weeks and I feel like crap. I'm pretty strong usually but right now I feel overwhelmed.
libodem
(19,288 posts)You do have it bad. Sorry for the reflux. Had that's awful. And it must be rough without your true love. Is you catito going to be alright.

(21,484 posts)He was burning up last night and acting completely out of character. His fever was 105 (normal is 101) and was dehydrated. The doctor didn't know why for sure, but he pointed out that Daddy has the worst teeth he's ever seen.
So I don't really know what's wrong with him, if it's not the teeth, which it could be. And I can't get him to my own vet until Saturday. Not looking for "aw that's not true" with this statement, but damn, I feel like a bad cat mom.

(19,288 posts)Had gross cat teeth. I felt bad for him. He was very sick at the end of his life and I felt that I should have taken better care of him when he was younger. I had enormous guilt because I had disliked his behaviors so much. I've carried on in the lounge talking about what a bad house cat he was. People probably thought I hated him.
I miss him because he was such a jerk, he left a big empty space. Ralphie is nothing like her brother.
Bertha Venation
(21,484 posts)That's what Daddy is like! His nicknames include Shithead. Oh, this cat is such a prick. And then he can crawl up in your lap and make bicuits and purr, and your heart just melts.
I'm sorry you lost Bob.

(19,288 posts)My vet was not very nice to me. She apparently thought I should have had some control over him. She did NOT want him to go outside at all.
Even my son, to whom Bob belonged said, she doesn't have to live with him. He'd look at you and would start digging the rug, as if to say, I'll shit right here then.
Bertha Venation
(21,484 posts)What a furry little asshole!
Your vet needs to get off her high horse. There are all kinds of different experiences in this world, and people would do well to realize that.

(19,288 posts)Every time I took him in during his last 6 months. I did get a nice card with a similar looking orange tabby from their group after he was put to sleep. Quite thoughtful as I had a huge guilt complex for not doing better. Oh god, the pills were awful, He was furry little shit.

(12,272 posts)I am just wondering why Shironeko the Zen Cat wears a bell? Is it a joke or does he actually ever get up enough energy to try to catch a bird?
