(55,981 posts)winters have been mild, but during colder winters it's a challenge. One winter I looked out and my feeder was frozen and there was a bird near not moving much. I was prepared, I had another feeder in the house keeping warm. I switch them out just in time I think.

up there on the weekend and it was too late. It probably died of thirst or fright poor thing.
