Dave Grohl is a Renaissance man. Hes a prolific musician, documentary film maker Record Store Day ambassador, and now, certified badass. Fan-shot footage posted to YouTube doesnt show the actual fall, which happened during a performance of Monkey Wrench, which was only the second song in Foo Fighters set. However, it does capture Dave Grohl addressing the crowd right after the accident.
Ladies and gentleman I love you too motherfers, Grohl began. Now look, I think I just broke my leg. I think I REALLY broke my leg. So look, you have my promise, right now, that the Foo Fighters; were gonna come back and finish the show. Right now, Im gonna go to the hospital. Im gonna fix my leg, but then Im gonna come back and were gonna play for you again. Im so sorry, Im so sorry. Were gonna do it, but right now, Taylor Hawkins, youve gotta do it. Youve gotta do it.

(18,837 posts)...I don't get it. The guy just keeps bringing a level of energy and excitement to his music that few others can match. His performance with Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen on Late Night with David Letterman was amazing. If you scout around YouTube you will find another Foo clip of them performing the same song in which Taylor Hawkins talks about wanting to keep the white suit and then changing his mind after finding out that it cost $5000.

(100,081 posts)I want names, damn it!!!! I saw the Foo Fighters back in January and they just killed it for like four hours straight. It was Dave's birthday and he announced the show on a Thursday, sold out on Friday and Saturday just tore into it. There was literally an all star cast accompanying Dave - there was Paul Stanley from Kiss, Tenacious D, Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age, Perry Farrell from Janes Addiction, it just went on and on. Jack Black sang Happy Birthday, and they played Immigrant Song, there were lots of covers and Foo Fighters songs, easily the best concert I've ever been to. To paraphrase a quote from Homer Simpson - he who is tired of Dave Grohl is tired of life.

(18,837 posts)It usually comes across like some grade school level "Oh, he thinks he's so great" jealousy.
I mean, this guy threw a concert on his birthday and had Paul Stanley come on and sing "Detroit Rock City," for God's sake. Show me the person who wouldn't like to see that and I'll show you a bald-faced LIAR!!!!!
