As a father of a girl who still sleeps with Roger Rabbit at 26, I understand who that tiger is to that boy.

It's cool that now he has story to tell.

My oldest--who was 2 in 1988 when we moved from Los Angeles to St. Joseph, MO--had a stuffed bear who was very important
to him. It was crazy keeping track of it when we moved--driving across country--and I realized after we had
stopped for lunch outside of Manhattan, KS that Bear was missing. I asked my son if he could remember
what happened to him--I thought he had brought him in to lunch--and he said, yes, he had put him away
at the table. Well, we turned around and drove back to the coffee shop. We went to the table where we'd
sat and our son lifted up the seat and there was Bear! Unbelievable. I guess when I went to the rest room
he had put him in there and my husband--busy paying the bill--hadn't noticed.

Bear continued to live with us--moving from St. Joseph, MO to Lincoln, NE to Chapel Hill, NC-- for 19 years and was only lost in the fire that burned our house down in 2007.

I hope that Tiger lives a long time and will be remembered for his adventure.

I still have my son's favorite teddy bear (now hair-less). It's over 40 years old, lol. He got lost a few times, too. My other son had a blankie that accompanied him everywhere. It just fell apart eventually. Those security items are so important to little kids.

They gave great value to Owen's love for his tiger. How good to see in this society where adults too often would shrug and say "you can always buy another one."
