right into my arm. Tomorrow, a jackhammer will be right outside getting rid of cement steps to the front door. Poor cat. He knows not what he must face.

(29,414 posts)That came from one of the comments where the person used it to calm their injured cat during a vet examination. You can set it however you like, too, see what your cat likes

(205,356 posts)I found my kitten in a grocery store parking late one night last August. He was incredibly difficult to even catch, poor little guy, and he has gotten so much better, but he still has his 'fraidy cat moments. Maybe this will help, thanks so much!

(29,414 posts)I've only ever used that site for relaxation, and sometimes focus when working. If your cat responds positively, maybe post about it. I know of one other person that had a healing effect on her from one of the sounds (something called "Impulse Noise" that helped quell her migraines without medication.

(205,356 posts)But he's yet to become affectionate or cuddly, must have had a rough time on his own as a little kitten, though he's come a long way. I appreciate anything that might relax him and make him feel more secure. He's 11 months old now (the vet said he was about 7 weeks when I found him ) and he's growing into a beautiful cat... I will let you know - thank you!
Felix, then and now

I also like how he's got hold of his furry toy
My only cat was black (he passed well over a year ago) and was pretty tranquil for the most part. I didn't know about this noise site (or had forgotten about it in my bookmarks) so I never got to play it for him. He was a young stray, but not feral, and already fixed when he showed up (the vet figured he was about seven months when we got him.) My first wife took him in, and I had him as my only pet (my first direct-responsibility and -ownership pet) long after she'd broken up with me.
I miss him, but I'm still not ready for another pet until I manage to at least declutter about a third of what I 'own' (I think the clutter owns me, honestly!)
Here's Kipper (past-wife named him)

(205,356 posts)And I really love black cats, too! Felix is actually my fourth cat, but I've never had a kitten before. The three others I've adopted were much older and two out of the three of them were black. When my uncle died, I adopted his two cats before his unpleasant wife could drop them off at some shelter. And then I managed to bring in a cat I was feeding outside - which wasn't easy. I eventually found out she had belonged to a neighbor who moved, she had several and this one must have gotten away from her - and that black kitty was 12.
I became especially attached to one of my uncle's cats, has to be the most intelligent and user friendly cat I will ever know. She was also black and long haired and her name was Rhiannon.
When I first found Felix, it was tough to determine what color he was. He did look kind of brownish, but then he was very little. He's not completely black, has a spot of white on his chest and one kind of spotted white left foot, LOL.
And he loves that stuffed lion which also squeaks, is actually a dog toy, but I got it for him. He loses interest in toys before very long, but that one has remained his favorite, will actually play fetch with it when I toss it on the top of the cat tree...
Here he is when he was much smaller, when I wasn't yet sure what he would look like:
