I am a liberal living in an uber red state experiencing extreme frustration in my work place which I admit is kind of coloring what shows appeal to me at the moment.
Stitchers - It has received mixed reviews by I love it. The main character has no filter so I get to live vicariously through watching this character just say what is on her mind.
Zoo (based on a James Patterson book) - The book has received a lot of bad reviews but I think that I will give it a shot. I love animals and the idea of the wild animals banding together against humans to take back their world is a tad appealing to me. You can think of it as the animal version of liberals fighting back against the uber conservatives.
The Last Ship - I loved the first season and can't wait for the second season to start this Sunday.
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, a BBC show based on a book by the same name. This is a 7 part mini-series and it is different but a good BBC show. It is set in the Regency era dealing with magic and two men that are fated to be powerful enough to use it (possibly to help England in the war).
Dark Matter and new show on Syfy that some have found to be similar in style of the shoe Firefly. I liked the first episode.

(10,952 posts)I am behind in watching the latest season. It has so many twists and turn. The lead actress is fabulous in playing all the different characters. The character of Alison has become such a hoot!

Looking for:

Under the Dome
While it looks like I'm a SF buff, I'm not, actually. It's just that some of the shows have interesting story lines.
I'm also catching up on back seasons of The Good Wife which I had never watched in their first runs.
And would you believe it, 10 years after it ended, I'm finally watching JAG.
And then there are all those International Mysteries at 6:00 on MhZ! I watch a lot of foreign films so sub-titles are nothing to me.
And then there's Tea Time on PBS (3:00 weekdays) -- British series like Foyle's War, A Place to Call Home, Jewel in the Crown, and a couple of others I've set for recording.
I'm retired and am home most days so I'm in a pattern of recording most shows and watching during the day when my daughter and her husband and my granddaughter are at work or school and I can have the "BIG" tv.

Aquarius is OK, nothing great, but I like David Duchovny. I like The Whispers so far. I forgot about Wayward Pines, but I was watching it earlier.
Looking forward to Zoo and the return of Under the Dome.
I have been watching a lot of Netflix. I just finished Homeland (seasons 1-3) and I'm currently in the middle of The Bletchley Circle, which is wonderful.

(3,998 posts)watch "Les Revenants (The Returned)." Oh my god, so good. The American version was lousy. The original series is so beautiful and haunting. Also, "Top of the Lake" with Elisabeth Moss and "The Killing" are two other fantastic series. Great writing and acting.

(27,151 posts)I have all the episodes on my DVR and just watched the opening episode.
Zoo does look interesting, but I'm probably not going to watch it as I don't want to see the animals get killed.
I'm all for them taking out the humans, though.
Yeah, I'm totally a traitor to my species......

(72,790 posts)but I really don't watch TV shows. I work second shift, and I don't have DVR and I don't watch shows on-line. If I happen to be home on a night when Zoo is on, I will probably check it out.

(8,747 posts)When I get the missing episodes of The Flash recorded, I'm going to do a marathon. The Flash has always been one of my favorite superheroes. I liked the 1990 TV series of The Flash, and John Wesley Shipp who played The Flash then, is now playing his imprisoned father in the new series.
Also, George Gently on PBS here in DFW.
