(50,566 posts)Can you write out what you want to say, either to give the letter to the person or to just clarify your thoughts before you speak?
Sometimes it helps to try to add up what is good and positive in your life so it puts the negative in a bit of perspective. It can be anything from appreciating health and friends to just being thankful to have a roof over your head and clothes to wear. Sometimes I try to tell myself how much better I have it than the vast majority of the world's residents due to simple things like plentiful food and clean water.
Of course, this is all easier said than done -- I have lain wide awake at 4 am many a night fighting thoughts of fear, remorse, anxiety, and dread!
So here is a hug.

(27,172 posts)I will definitely do that, mostly to organize my thoughts on paper.
My brain is too mushy right now to be able to organize.

Chocolate.
I think we've all been there and commiserate, but tomorrow you have to face the reality-- unless you can find a way out of it, or stall it.
Good luck.
And, yes, dogs and cats just seem to "know", so let the dog do what it does.

(27,172 posts)It is much better to face and discuss the anger of the other party and try to work through it as best we can, if we hope to have a relationship going forward.

(206,016 posts)Kind of like sleeping with a fuzzy stuffed animal, only one with feelings who genuinely loves you. The only problem with my dog is that he gets warm and jumps down to sleep on the floor. Short of that, there are stuffed animals, may sound silly, but a psychologist recommended that to a friend of mine and she was in her 20s at the time.
I'm watching TV right now, plan to turn to the news at some point, but watching something with a storyline helps keep my mind off things...

(27,172 posts)but the dog cuddles are a definite win!!!

(206,016 posts)I took Trazodone for quite awhile since I have trouble sleeping, too. It never failed to let me fall asleep within an hour. But these days I usually get tired...
BTW, I don't think you've seen my dog. He's a Brussels Griffon, big for his breed, but small enough to fit on my bed, if only he'd pick a spot and stay there, LOL.

(135,425 posts)If no milk, go for ice cream--comfort food and it will make you sleepy! If you're a health nut, you can always go for those sleepy teas....
Definitely sleep with the dog--man's best friend will calm you down. His (or her) breathing will lull you, and make you feel safe and drowsy. Nothing better than a dog to de-stress you.

(81,466 posts)Don't know if it's morning for you already, but I hope you were able to take some of the excellent suggestions here (especially the one about cuddling with your pooch).
Hope you are feeling better and the situation resolves itself smoothly.

(27,172 posts)It is morning.
The difficult call is scheduled for the afternoon.
I don't know when, as I am letting the other party choose.
I'll let you know how it goes......
