Need some ideas for a bridal party breakfast snack...

I offered up my home for my nephew's bride to be and her party to get dressed for the big event. I live about 5 minutes from where the wedding is to take place, so I am happy to help.

Most are coming in from out of town...turns out there will be somewhere between 13-20 ladies here Saturday morning from 9:30am to about 1:30pm.

I have no clue as to what will be going on...9:30 is a bit early for a 3:00pm wedding. I would like to have something for them to snack on, if they should feel the need.

The plans are for the mother of the bride to provide something for lunch around noon.

Here's what I have come up with so far:

Coffee
Tea
Orange Juice
Mini quiches
strawberries
grapes
Donut holes
Cheese

Not quite sure what to do. I actually wouldn't mind cooking breakfasts to order, should they like that. But, I would rather have something ready for them when they get here.

Any ideas?

A big bowl of cherries on ice (aren't they in season now?), pineapple, grapes, etc. Virgin Bloody Marys. Some mini smoked salmon biscuits or mini cucumber-dill muffins. I like the deviled egg idea. I'd keep the snacks savory except for fruit so people don't ruin their appetites for lunch.

I think that menu is great. Keep it simple especially since the MOB is doing the lunch, it's not a big window of time and chances are they'll have had a little something anyway.

Salmon is also a good idea, easy to manage. Get a pack of smoked salmon and on the tray, slice it short ways in 1 inch wide strips. Put a dob cream cheese on a thin cracker and curl a piece of salmon around your finger tip, then stand up on top of the cheese. Takes about 5 minutes to make a lot of easy to eat mid morning snacks.

Sounds like fun, so enjoy!

(I'm serious about the booze, lol)

I find cream cheese too heavy so I make mine with yogurt cheese (drain plain yogurt until it has the consistency of cream cheese, add salt and sugar to taste) served with cucumber slices, maybe some very thin flatbread. I'm concerned with ruined appetites. I know people think that even if they ruin an appetite, another one is lined up right behind, but if you've taken the trouble of preparing a meal and guests have gone and ruined their appetites with horse derves, it's hard not to resent them a little.

A booze option should be available, because sometimes a light anesthetic is a good idea when you have to be around people all day.

They are easy and can be made the day before. If you have leftovers, they freeze well. Everybody loves them and they are easy pickup food.

And cut the bagels into halves, then quarters. With so much food, some folks might not want to commit to a whole bagel.

My son-in-law's aunt served them at the morning-after breakfast, along with fruit, cheese, bacon, fresh orange juice, coffee, tea, a tray of raw vegetables and spinach dip, etc.

Banana bread, Zucchini bread, Pumpkin bread. And then make some whipped butter w/ honey or maple syrup to go with them.

Here's what I ended up with:

Sausage Balls
Deviled Eggs
Fresh Fruit
Cheese Cubes

Mini Quiches
Mini Muffins
Mini Cream Cheese Danish

Got these last three at GFS...I've had them before, and they are quite tasty.

Flavored coffees and teas, and the ever important orange juice. I told the bride to bring some sparkling white wine and peach schnapps if desired...to insure that there are no Vitamin C deficiencies.

Also, she will need to maintain a constant buzz to marry into my crazy family.

Thanks again!
