I can speak in great detail about a personal bout with ulcerative colitis.

In fact, the Gilroy Garlic Festival, complete with garlic ice cream (!), is coming up next month.

I hate when you embark on weight loss that everyone around you suddenly becomes weight loss experts and decides they can give you dieting tips and medical advice.

Excuse me, but when did everyone suddenly become medical experts. If a friend told me they had Cancer or Diabetes or some other medical issue the last thing I would do is start giving them medical advice. So please do NOT give me medical advice on how to lose weight. I have medical advice, it's the Nurse Practioner who I meet with every other month (use to be month) who has worked with me to get to 90lbs lost, thank you very much!

I probably got 40lbs off till people started commenting and I still kept quiet at work. I said absolutely NOTHING to my mother but then again I really only visit her about 3-4 times a year. I even avoid posting anything on facebook until I hit my first 50lb pounds.

And yes I did use a prescription weight loss pill, I don't mind admitting to that. But I also totally changed up my diet and really kicked in my exercise so that as I weened myself off the weight loss pill I knew I had healthy eating habits in place. I'm at 90lbs now and feel that after a year I'm a much healthier person.
