Sometimes Amish macaroni salad instead of coleslaw.

My supermarket used to have a pretty good fake crab meat seafood salad on their salad bar but the last couple of years it is pretty much just fake crabmeat without the celery and stuff, so I avoid it.

It's just your basic tossed green salad with whatever you want in it, plus some chopped up ham.

Easy AND delicious!

But cereal is truly the best on hot days

OR Peanut Butter crunch

I will also accept either Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles.

I used to love Frosted Flakes but I quit overtly* eating sugar a few years ago and I recently tried a bowl of FF but they were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ridiculously sweet I couldn't finish it. I don't have that problem with the Captain.

*I quit putting sugar in my coffee and tea and I cut candy/cake/ice cream down to a few times a year and special occasions and social situations and weekdays. Oh and weekends.

radishes, baby carrots, tiny baby peas. If I am really prepared, some sliced deli turkey, olives, cold green beans...sometimes these are leftovers so it's a good way to eat up stuff in the fridge...

Pizza which is then great cold the next day. Chinese food. I'm lucky I have a few great restaurants nearby for Italian takeout and Mexican. My local tavern has an outstanding fish fry every Friday (are you sensing I've sampled a lot of the local take out places here lol?)

Add a green salad and fruit and I'm done.

Or I just nuke food that doesn't heat the house or me - like potatoes, bacon and eggs, steamed veggies.

cole slaw, potato salad, and baked chicken with bbq sauce (cooked in larger batches and frozen, can be eaten cold or microwaved),
and fresh green salads.

Gardens pumping out cucumbers and radishes, slice em up and a little salt for nibbling.

Ice cream!

Whatever's ripe gets picked and eaten. I have a salt shaker on the potting bench.

This year's Sweet 100 Cherry Tomatoes are particularly delectable.

I like bean dip, on corn chips, with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa.

Add a plate of cold veggies: cucumber, cherry tomatoes, black olives, sweet red pepper, etc.

Yum!

And, prawns, with spicy cocktail sauce.

Oh, oh...now I'm hungry.

Which oddly enough never seems to make my weight lower, but I assume I make up the calories at other meals.

I do try to keep things like apples or grapes or raw veggies handy so I at least have some healthy food for the evening before dessert.

But some days, it's hot enough that dinner is just ice cream.

anything that has cucumbers or watery melons in it... the actually bring down your body temp and give you electrolytes. I go for the cold salads and whatever else does not require heat to prepare.
