The no-drinks-before-Noon rule? I just broke the no-music corollary - Pyotr Illich, Wow!1

So music has been a lifelong thing, specifically the Classical stuff. But in my old age I've ditched lots of things that I thought were unditchable, and for the past two years have not played the CDs. Not to say that music is gone, because at the occasional "Happy" Hour(s) I play (the same) 5 to 10 pop stuff from the satellite jukeboxes that have obsessed me lately, luck of the draw that I hear.

So a week ago, I had a little yen for my old CDs, and discovered that my covered-with-dust 60-CD/Sony jukebox type unit (I loved it) was kaput, nothing worked except the radio. Not that I wanted to play much music, but that the thing was denying me, it became an obsession to get it to work or to ponder whether it was worthwhile to replace it or just consider my music gone for good. So I did the predictable things - got Tech Support's opinion (replace it, no fixing), internet (blow out the dust, use a cleaning disc for the laser, wash the CDs).

So I decided to replace it *minimally* -- no 60-disc storage, just the basic CD/radio/cassette. That was last evening, unpacking the little (boom box) and looking at the instructions, not in the mood to play it. So this morning, there it was, and there the stack of washed CDs were.

And I picked up the top CD and popped it in, and it was TCHAIKOVSKY's Violin Concerto, yes, at 8 A.M., something I never do, and WOW!1 Glorious Sony sound of glorious Pyotr OMZ!1

By the bye, things are so advanced beyond me: Before this device (drawback, no connection to speakers), I had to take back what looked like a sweet item that had USB connections and Bluetooth because its radio was FM-only (no AM), is there a reason for that?!1

... usually I prefer the earlier guys, before 1820 say.

Still think Van Cliburn has the best Piano Concerto, but there was one I heard recently that wasn't half-bad. Unfortunately, I forget the pianist's name.

As for drinks, if it's five o'clock somewhere, it's also noon somewhere.
