I laughed my head off, seeing this teeny little Fiat at the car dealership near my place.
(I parked my bike next to the car in one shot)

(43,049 posts)1. It's a 124 Spider, very popular at the time...
even though it was faster in 4th than 5th.
It was a lot of fun to drive, and even though it was a Fiat, it tended to break down less than Triumphs and MGs of the day. Also much cheaper than Porsches or Jaguars.
I had its baby sister, the 850 Spider, and that was even more fun-- although I blew the engine burying the speedo.

His girlfriend (also a 2LT) drove one, too. Nice, but I always preferred the Triumph Spitfire myself.

(90,767 posts)4. I know a story about a Fiat Spider, 5 high school girls, Jim Beam
and bikers that I'm not sharing.
Nothing naughty. Incriminating, but not naughty.
The Fiat Spider is forever part of my high school years.
