I was just starting my junior year at Wright State University when I dropped out. I think I had taken almost all of my general education courses there by that time and I'm hoping that they'll all transfer to IU. If they do, I should be able to complete my bachelor's degree in 3 years if I stick to the program.
Next I have to talk to an academic adviser. Registration for summer and fall begins on March 30th.

(10,418 posts)I'm still going to be trucking it up for a while until I get my degree. We can't afford for me to quit now and pursue college full time.

(130,908 posts)Was very impressed with IU when daughter looking; visited IU Bloomington. From what I recall, they appeared to do education well.
good luck, Tobin. I'm always impressed with people who can swing this.

(10,418 posts)But I'm pretty much limited to online courses. There are 5 or 6 degrees that are offered 100% online. The idealist in me wants to go after the English degree, but I'll probably go with a degree in business administration.
I'm not after enlightenment or just taking courses for personal enjoyment. I want to make more money and possibly start a business some day.

(11,546 posts)How long has it been? I went back to school last fall (only a couple of classes) and it had been 10 years since my last classes. It wasn't to hard to get adjusted to studying again but it wasn't too easy either.

I'm going to IU East here in Richmond. The tennis star Venus Williams is going through the same degree program there that I'm going to take.

(10,418 posts)I lived in Dayton for most of my life until I met my wife who lived in Richmond. It was much easier for me to move here than for her to move there.

(41,963 posts)I went back after an interruption of some years and I loved being an adult student. I looked at it as their job to teach me and if I didn't get something they were damned well going to help. SO different than feeling like a child trying to please a parent/teacher.
Good luck!

(23,272 posts)I know that sounds "hard" but a lot of things may overlap... you can pursue your love of English (and polish your excellent writing skills), while getting the hard skills of business?

Congratulations.

(10,418 posts)If you think I need more, maybe you can tell that to my wife who I'm happily married to. Perhaps you could break the news to my employer that I have bipolar disorder and should be disqualified from my position there. Maybe you can convince my family to have me committed.
I'm not sure where you are coming from, but I can tell you that IU East does not have a psychiatric hospital.

(10,418 posts)There's a difference between admitted and committed.

(10,418 posts)There was one of those at Wright State University, too, and I think it's a safe bet that there is one at every college in the nation. When I called the Admissions department they said that I had been admitted which would seem logical seeing as how they deal with admissions to the school.
What are you trying to do here?
