What's left on your bucket list for summer ? A vacation ? Doing outdoor maintenance and repair while it's still pretty warm ? Taking more walks outdoors ?
Of course, my summer here in Florida doesn't really end until, oh, Thanksgiving!

(54,405 posts)We got to the States on July 10. I think that was about 5 days ago, wasn't it?
Our Cape Cod vacation is officially over this Saturday. This sucks. We just got here!

(37,457 posts)I hope your weather is great up there, and hopefully it will be back in Germany also, my friend.

(54,405 posts)From here (outer tip of Cape Cod), it's Boston-Chicago-Dallas-Washington, DC-Vancouver-Anchorage-Fairbainks-DC (again)-Boston (again)-Lenox, MA (for a wedding)-Boston (one last time) and THEN back to Germany.

(37,457 posts)Vancouver, Anchorage and Fairbanks should be fun. If you've never been to Alaska this time of year, you'll be amazed at the amount of daylight.

(37,457 posts)Did you go to the Icehotel there ? It sounds like an interesting place.

(54,405 posts)That was back in my student days. Hotel wasn't part of my travel vocabulary in those days.

(28,394 posts)June was too wet and July was too hot to do much. I have lots of weeding, trimming, etc. to do before it gets too cold. I can usually keep working outside well into October if the weather cooperates.
I dislike summer.... can't wait for cooler temperatures.

(22,897 posts)(I'm one of those people who can't bear the heat, but I can certainly understand why the
prospect of summer's ending is downer for many, many others. When I was a kid, summer was
the best time of year!)
Just seize what's left and know that summer will be back before you know it.

(63,221 posts)I hate the heat! Fall is my favorite season. I can't wait until it drops back down into the 50's and 60's again.

(5,364 posts)I work outside, and hate the heat and humidity, as it drains me physically and spiritually: It makes me miserable no matter how much I try to tune it out. On my own time, I go outdoors only as much as I have to to maintain my house/yard. All other 3 seasons I'm outside more, and more active.
I wish I was in a position to view summer as the ultimate leisure time to do all the fun stuff so many people seem to associate summer with, but I'm not.
For me it's my least favorite season by far.

(24,146 posts)at least those are cheap fixes.
i'm a volvo girl and this amount of maintenance is foreign to me. i drove my 82 240 for 16 years and pretty much the only thing we did was oil changes. the only reason i sold her is because the electric system crapped out (a known issue with that model) and the time it would take to repair her just wasn't worth it. i cried the day the wrecker towed her away.
Ive missed the snow.
