Looking for an affordable craft case.

I'm hoping to find something portable that is no larger than a portable sewing machine, and that opens up like a doctor's bag. I was hoping the tops could be used as flat shelfs for lightweight items. The closest thing I found that resemble the item I'm looking for are make up kits, but they are too small.

Any help would be appreciated.

I just want to open the sides and have a hole to drop things into.

But that doesn't sound like what you need.
Some fishing tackle boxes have 'adjustable' slots for stuff.
Or you could probably just customize one with a pair of pliers.
Break out the plastic dividers to suit your need.

I use basic office supply products like postums for dialogue and it's a pain to organize everything to move from one room to the next if I want to change the scenery. I just want to open the bag for easy access, and if it's time to tidy up, I can throw everything back in the bag and shove it in a closet.

Here is one at Amazon, but you can look for other sources:

At the Overstock link, there are other styles and sizes of various brand cases very similar to the Omnigrid:

If I can get one in the right size with a number of pockets, it will be on the money.

Thanks!
