Is there a way to "desalt" French fries?

Several days ago we visited Five Guys. Even though we ordered a small order of fries we got a lot so we took them home, the way we always do.

They were really salty. In hindsight I should have called the attention of the manger, but with the hamburgers we managed. Now I am thinking of warming them and to eat - we've done this before successfully. But they really really are salty - even cold from the fridge.

So I wonder whether there is anything that can be done. Sprinkle vinegar? Grated cheese?

Ask for "no salt" when you order them; after that, it's kind of tough. nt eppur_se_muova Aug 2015 #5

But by the time they come out of the dryer they'll taste like Tide and fabric softener.
