I love my iPhone but ....

Before I dive into the morass of Apple Discussion Groups, can anyone tell me how to delete albums/pictures on my iPhone 5s that I imported from iPhoto? Photo stream photos are easy to manage and get rid of, but older albums/pictures don't give me the option to delete. I need to free up some space on my phone. Thanks in advance.

I'd post this in the Macintosh Users section, but it's pretty much a desert and seems more suited to actual computer questions.

I usually sync specific albums and the last 3 months. The older stuff will then disappear from the phone.

I very seldom use iPhoto/Photos now, except for my iPhone photos. This really does sound like a fix.
