(102,419 posts)She desperately wants to go with me, but even to drive across town I'd have to turn on the air conditioner and that works only if I go somewhere she can come in with me.
Damn... it is Colorado and only mid March. And, I'm already shuffling furniture to try to bring in more fans, a portable "swamp cooler"--all in hopes of delaying that $$$ air conditioner as long as possible. I can deal with being hot myself, but not seeing my aging old furry girl suffer. No global warming--indeed. ...sigh...

(10,418 posts)Is 38 degrees one night next weekend. Highs will be between 57 and 79. We've had one of the warmest winters here on record. I only had to drive in the snow 3 times this winter and I don't think any of those snow falls were greater than 4 inches.

(25,816 posts)It's been raining here all morning, which I know we need. But this wind? Enough already. I'm sure I'll be looking at snow on the Huachucas in the morning. I was out to breakfast at the Lone Star in Nicksville yesterday and saw that they are starting to rebuild Ricardo's restaurant, burned in the Monument fire. Hurry up, I still have a fifty dollar gift certificate from before the fire.
The mountains are scarred badly, but driving up the (now aptly named) Ash Canyon, I noted that all of the burnt oaks have new growth at their base. In a hundred years or so, barring another horrible fire, the Huachucas will be beautiful again.

(17,087 posts)Overcast but dry all day yesterday and then rain, sleet, snow flurries, and back to rain today. Last week was t shirt weather.
I wouldn't mind except it only precipitates hard enough to turn the dust to mud on my Jeep, but not hard enough to wash it off.
