After this morning my week can only go uphill - I'm SERIES!!!!!!

So I had my personal trainer this morning and I get home and go to unlock my front door.

The key won't work.

I jiggle it and jiggle it and still won't work.

This is the same key I've used for 4 years with my house and well I can tell you I'm not that happy!

So I get my hidden key out and use that - still no luck.

My front windows are slightly cracked but I can't open them any further because I keep a large stick on top of the pane to keep anyone from opening them further.

So I realize I have to break into my backyard. You have to understand I live in a row home so breaking into my backyard requires 2 things. My partially deaf neighbor letting me into her house so I can get into my backyard (we have a gate between the two. But if I go that route I'm stuck 30-40 minutes either listening to her complain or listening to her somewhat racist daughter complain. The other thing is going between the walkway between her house and her other neighbor, jumping the fence and then going thru the gate. I figured #2 is the better of the 2 options and hope I don't break a leg on the fall.

So I break thru and normally I can get my spare key to the backdoor by cracking opening the window except that window is locked. I try the other window and it seems locked. So now I'm stuck outside of my house in a backyard that is even harder getting back to the front without having my deaf neighbor let me thru her house. I knock on the back door and no answer.

So I cry.

Damnit I could die back here and no one would know it. I don't even have my cell phone on me.

I am able to open the kitchen windows and consider crawling thru those except the windows are narrow and my butt isn't.

So I go back to the one laundry room window (the one without the hidden key) and try it again - it opens. This is wide enough for me to crawl thru but high up off the ground.

So I stack my cheap plastic chairs on top of my Adirondack chair and some how manage to squeeze my way thru.

Turns out I had this recyclable grocery bag hanging from my front door knob filled with stuff I'm giving to the friend. Somehow the weight was causing the front door to stick.

Seriously, my week cannot get any worse

That really sucks, LynneSin. PSA: I do not advocate gun violence! And hey, did you get the new Rolling Stone with Bruce on the cover?

How frustrating, makes me think I had better hide a key somewhere. I know that wasn't your problem though. I am just trying to figure out how weight would change the lock configuration. The door locks I have seen have springs inside of a cylinder. Then it is cased inside of the knob. I can't quite visualize it, but I think if the knob was tilted by the weight of the bag, it might have put the cylinder off kilter.

Hope the rest of your day goes great, you should have some endorphins going from your work-out, that should help. Plus you worked-out, feel good about that.
