Selfie-related deaths outnumber shark attack deaths in 2015

The number of shark attack deaths compiled by website Shark Attack Survivors thus far in 2015 stands at eight, while the number of selfie-related deaths compiled by Mashable.com reached 12 this month after a Japanese tourist fell down the stairs at India's Taj Mahal while attempting to take a selfie.

I've seen it.

Tourists backing close to the edge with a selfie stick. The little wall at Yavapai Point will either stop them, or they'll trip over it. About 1500 ft straight down. Does the word "splat" mean anything to you???

The stories the Rangers tell....

There's a book titled "Over the Edge: Death in the Grand Canyon" with a record of all the people that have died for various reasons at The Canyon. It's reissued every year or two to update with the latest ...misadventures... SMH
