The Green Mile

A prison movie where there are frequent executions...

Accidentally turned this movie on just as John, a huge black prisoner, was breathing life into a dead mouse that a crazy guard had crushed with his foot. The crazy guard was the governor's son, but he got his up'n comins right straight.

The guards who didn't like this guard were led by Tom Hanks, and a bunch of fine character actors who managed to make me cry for the last hour of the movie. A Stephen King movie. I read only one of his books, not a spooky one, but a spiritual type like this one where the evil are punished. King's other movies scare me too much.

I couldn't turn it off, and sat mesmerized thru several scenes, barely breathing, tears streaming down my cheeks and nose running. . Hope I don't catch another movie like that for a long time. I'd rather put my tears into a real life tragedy, god knows there's enough of them without seeking them out in a movie...
