I had the good fortune to raise my two oldest girls as a single father and was able to win custody back in '84. They were 5 & 2 years old at the time. Both are grads and earn twice the amount annually that their ol' dad ever made.
Both girls told me, at different times, that they did not know where they would be if I had not fought for them so hard when they were young.
You should be very proud.

a single father. What a long strange trip it's been. You should be proud too.

(1,328 posts)My father was a single father for a few years until he felt sorry for my mother and re-married her. He shouldn't have but he was a tremendous father, has been gone since 1986 and I miss him as if it was yesterday.
