Raleigh NC high temps looking ahead....wow.

Dec 23 - 70
Dec 24 - 71
Dec 25 - 70 (ho ho ho!)
Dec 26 - 78 (WTF?)
Dec 27 - 70

The long range, up through Jan 26, there are only 2 nights where it is forecast to be at freezing or below. NIGHTS.

We've lived here for 23 years - this is really unusual.... just plain weird!

It was 70 on Saturday, 65 Sunday and 60 on Monday.

We still have not had a prolonged freeze here, there have been a few night time lows in the 20's but nothing is normal.

I could see ( and have seen ) a warm day or two now and then, but this fall has been too warm too long for this to be a one-off fluke.

And what with the abundant rainfall since late September leaving the ground saturated since then, I've mowed my lawn for the "final time" this season.....4 times in a row now.

Rest of the time it's 40s overnight, 50s day, through Christmas Eve.

This time last year, we were buried and heading into the coldest winter I've had up here, and per the locals, among the coldest in memory

Oh, and my red russian kale, leeks and sorrel are still growing, albeit very slowly due to lack of sun!
