I saw the Star Trek movie with the whale and San Francisco in a theatre but have never deliberately watched a Star Trek TV episode.

But I do like science fiction.

I did not bother with seeing the last two. I know nothing about the latest Star Wars movie. Can someone explain to me where it fits with the prior six movies and why I should see it?

I was a young teen when the first Star Wars movie was made. My best friend thought it was the best thing ever. I did not tell him I thought it was ok, I just never 'got it'. (He also had a Spock costume at Halloween while I was a 'wild and crazy guy' from SNL.)

release in 1977.

George Lucas made Episode 4, 5 and 6 in the 70's and 80's, one of the writers for Episode 5 and 6, Lawrence Kasdan co-wrote Episode 7, which is the new one coming out. So it takes place about 30 years after the Death Star has been destroyed for the second time and the "Rebellion won".
The old guys like Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are in it too.

The chain did an email blast yesterday to announce the additional screenings Thursday at theaters across the country. The first screening at my local Cinemark will now be at 7pm Thursday, the day before the official Friday opening.

We all loved it. It probably helped that we were a bit tipsy when we saw it, too.

Enjoyed it, saw immediately how most of the plot was stolen, er, derived from other films, and I never went to a sequel.

Fun and superficial.

I did have a bumper sticker on my car for awhile. "Metaphors be with you."

Mars Bars. I like Snickers. Butterfingers. M and Ms are good too. So why is everybody talking all this stuff about Mars Bars. It's on the all the TeeVee commercials too.

Ahh--that's Star Wars.

Never mind.

All of us want to see it, but nobody is all that anxious to be crammed in like sardines with a bunch of strangers... So we'll wait a bit, and then make it a Sunday afternoon outing.

but i DO like sci fi , just don't plan on seeing this particular movie. the sw franchise has gotten much darker and more violent, and from what i have heard, this one might be the worst in that regard.

i like sci fi, but there is enough violence and sadism in real life imo
