Steve Miller band in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame?
They suck!
Why the hell is this no-talent band from the late 70's getting in, while the Moody Blues is *STILL* being ignored?

Steve Miller Band discography
Originally called the Steve Miller Blues Band, the group first made its mark as a psychedelic blues rock band in San Francisco. They went through a fallow period commercially in the early seventies before coming back with the hit album The Joker and the song of the same name in late 1973, before releasing the band's two most successful studio albums in 1976 and 1977, Fly Like an Eagle and Book of Dreams. In 1978, they released their biggest selling album in North America, Greatest Hits 197478, which has been certified 13x multi-platinum in the United States and diamond in Canada.
1968:
Children of the Future
Sailor
1969:
Brave New World
Your Saving Grace
And so on.
ETA that I had the Moody Blues' Greatest Hits in my Akai cassette deck a few days ago.

it was the first song I ever sang back up on in a band on stage.

(95,337 posts)Mind you I love The Moody Blues and Yes and King Crimson and Electric Light Orchestra and Jethro Tull and all those bands should have been in there AGES ago.
But I fricking LOVE LOVE LOVE Steve Miller Band. That guy wrote the soundtrack of my late 80s-90s for all the great times I had in college, going to great parties and heading down to the beach. Plus this guy puts on one of the best concerts. Not that he does anything spectacular that other bands don't do. But when you see a Steve Miller Band Concert it's like one big fricking giant size 'Sing along with Steve Miller' show because you know all the lyrics to his songs and you're best friends with everyone at the show. I've seen the guy 5 times in concert. You know who I've seen more times in concert than the Steve Miller Band? Only Robert Plant, that's pretty darn impressive. And you know it's been awhile since I've seen Steve Miller Band, I need to get tickets to see him again next year!!!
And remember this is the GODSON of Les Paul, yeah that Les Paul, one of the best guitar makers out there. Steve Miller honed his skills from a LEGEND and he does play a mean guitar!!!
So he's in there and get the FRICK over there. At least Janet Jackson wasn't picked!!!

(14,691 posts)I do harbor this cynical suspicion that given enough time, EVERY musical act will be in the RRHF. Yes, including Milli Vanilli.
