Do Five Guys in the US have shakes now?

I was in Dubai this weekend and stopped at the Five Guys at the Mall of the Emirates (it's the one with the indoor ski slope, which still isn't the fanciest mall in Dubai). The Five Guys there had milkshakes, which really surprised me. Part of the cachet of Five Guys was that they didn't have freezers on site, which both proved that their meat and potatoes were never frozen, and let them move into form factors that other fast casual burger joints couldn't fit into. (And it meant they couldn't have ice cream.)

Has that changed? Has even Five Guys gone the way of Shake Shack?

According to their website, they have the same menu everywhere. No shakes. Chan790 Dec 2015 #1

I'm thinking instead that the Dubai location has gone "off-menu" here as they've always seemed very committed to the "this is all we are ever going to serve in any location ever; this is what we do best and it's all we're ever going to do" state of their menu.

It hasn't changed since they first opened in Lorton, VA. You're a former DC resident, I'm sure you're aware of how protective they've been of not changing.

I was a contractor for them when they started their expansion. I'll have to bring this up next time I'm stateside.

A shake to balance that would be amazing.

But then I would get back to work and be in a caloric stupor for the rest of the afternoon.

Other than that, it sounds like a fine thing.
