Bomba Estéreo – Pure Love

Enjoy.

Formed in 2005, when musician Simón Mejía sought to expand his musical horizons outside of his native Bogata, Bomba Estéreo create highly-danceable electronic jams that incorporate influences from all over the Southern hemisphere to form an international mix that translates into prime dancefloor filler all around the world. Mejía, along with vocalist Liliana Saumet, guitarist Julian Salazar, and drummer Kiki Eguorrola, form the creative core of Bomba Estéreo, whose third album, Elegancia Tropical, embraces Afro-Colombian influences into their looping, frenetic cultural mix. After a series of loops build during the intro, “Pure Love” places Saumet’s commanding vocals arrive front and center, instructing the world to come together in musical harmony and dance. “Pure Love’s” lyrical message isn’t the first time a band has told an audience that “all you need is love”, but Bomba Estéreo’s pulsating Colombian rhythms make a pretty convincing case to hear that timeless lyric one more time.
