I'm curious as to how that plays out. I mean, "the government" is the government, no?

So far some pretty creepy fun!

The conspiracy mytharc was a pretty compelling idea, but wasn't really executed well. X-Files wasn't the only show that had that problem though. TV in the 90s was transitioning between standalone episodes and the more continuous storytelling that is common now. X-Files, Deep Space 9 and Buffy all had weird pacing where they would spend a couple episodes catching up on the seasonal story arcs, and then go back to standalone episodes for 3 or 4 weeks.

My favorite X-Files were the ones where they got all self-referential, and poked fun at the entire premise of the show. The one with the carnies, and the one with Alex Trebek and Jesse Ventura as Men in Black come to mind.

the same story from their own perspective was great too. I don't remember the MIB one with Trabek and Ventura. OMG, maybe . . .
